If you postpone the event, we will endeavour to transfer your order including deposit and payments made, subject to availability and if the date is available for us to transfer to.
In the very unlikely event of severe medical, natural, or other emergencies, it may be necessary to find you an alternative Cake Decorator. We will make every effort to secure a replacement cake designer of equal or more advanced skill at no extra cost. If such a situation should occur and a suitable replacement is not found, responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the event.
Alteration & Changes
If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design. We understand designs can organically change if ordered well in advance, however all designs must be confirmed to us 4 weeks prior for wedding cakes and 2 weeks prior for celebration cakes.
We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control, may compromise the quality of the finished cake.
Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, a small amount of variation may occur from the design requested.
Should any alterations be made to the cake after delivery/collection for example the addition of your own cake topper or fresh flowers, we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused. We are able to source some non-edible toppers with prior arrangement at an additional cost. We cannot source fresh flowers and will not be held responsible for any being added to a cake after delivery/collection.

Non-edible Items

Late requests for a delivery, after securing the booking based on collection, will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed, as earlier delivery commitments must take priority.
Cake Setup
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure arrangements are made for a sturdy cake table, any linen, cake stand and knife, which should all be set- up prior to our arrival. These will not be provided by ourselves unless confirmed by prior arrangement. If any delay is incurred due to these not being set-up, we reserve the right to charge for any delay incurred (labour and time costs at £20 per hour). Alternatively, please arrange for the cake to be left with the event manager to assemble or move into position as appropriate.
Best Before Date / Storage Conditions
Your cake is baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event, we cannot guarantee its quality if it’s consumed more than 48 hours after the event. Our cakes are made entirely of natural ingredients, please bear in mind that they will not have an extended shelf life like most supermarket cakes, which contain additives and preservatives to ensure their prolonged life. Once cakes are cut, they should be kept airtight and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
Sugar paste covered cakes should not be refrigerated, as it will cause condensation to form on the surface of the icing. Refrigeration also accelerates the staling of the flour in the cake.
Cakes should be kept away from heat sources and away from direct sunlight at all times. We will always advise your caterers/event coordinator how best to store your cake. Once delivered, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that these storage conditions are adhered to. Cabbage Patch Bakery will not accept responsibility for any damages caused due to incorrect storage of goods.
Brownies/blondies/traybakes are best kept in a cool, dark place and are best eaten with in 3-5 days and can be frozen up to 3 months, wrapped tightly.
Cake stand hire - £20 per stand
Prices quoted for cake do not include hire of a cake stand, an additional charge of £20 per stand should be applied. Payment for hire should be made in full 7 days before the hire date.
A 25% refundable deposit will also be charged to cover damages, extended hire periods and cleaning. Any breakages or missing items either in transit or in use will be charged at 4 times the hire charge. All prices quoted are for 7 day hire – longer hire can be arranged subject to availability.
We offer a collection service for an additional cost, should you need this please call Beccy on 07825729057 for a quote and we can then check availability for collection.
